Brian Jones completed his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Drexel University in 2018. He is currently a student in the Clinical Mental Health Master’s program offered at Saint Bonaventure University. He is at the Center for Growth for a one-year internship. His clinical areas of focus include: children and adolescents, senior citizens, couples, and adults struggling with stress, guilt, grief & loss, depression, panic attacks, anger management, low self- esteem, anxiety, dysfunction, parenting, motivation, trauma, crisis, communication issues, life transitions, and social justice. Brian has a warm and collaborative approach that allows his clients and their families to feel at ease immediately. Brian aspires to have each client leave therapy empowered to take back control of their life.
Prior to pursuing a career in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Brian worked in the food service industry as a store manager for over 20 years. Brian’s management style was to empower and support all his employees to be the best version of themselves. He prides himself on seeing many of his employees become managers under his leadership.
Outside of school, Brian wears many hats. He is a spouse, a dad and a volunteer with the American Red Cross as a Disaster Responder and a Case Manager for Recovery. He supports families that have been impacted by crises, such as home fire, by giving them the support and resources to assist in their recovery. Brian also spends his free time working out and running as he believes that a healthy body can have a positive impact on creating a healthy mind.
Brian was born and raised in Philadelphia and is an advocate for awareness to decrease the stigma that mental health carries, especially within minority communities. Brian is committed to his client’s success and will work with you to become the author of your own life.
