What is the difference between overeating versus binging?

The difference between overeating concerns and binging is the element of control the individual has over their eating habits. When one overeats, they are usually consuming large meals and snacking excessively. However, the individual does not feel out of control during this time. A binge, on the other hand, is synonymous with the feeling of being out of control and not knowing when (or how) to stop eating.
